Literacy Independent Activities

 

 

 

Independent literacy activities are designed to engage the rest of the class in active literacy learning when the teacher is working with small groups of students. The activities should support the skills and strategies currently being taught.  The children are given that opportunity for independent practices and learning through hands-on activities. These develop the students'  ability to apply their learning and transfer it to new contexts and also at the same time, are learning to share knowledge and understanding with each other!
